Dorel Home Furnishings sold full- and queen-size wall beds online between May 2021 and April 2024, under names including Pinnacle, Paramount, Impressions, Holly Hills and Her Majesty, and as part of the Signature Sleep and Novogratz brands. Some came with cabinets and lighting attached to the bed frame.

In a joint recall with Health Canada and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced in Canada on 21 November 2024, Dorel said the beds can become detached from the wall and fall, posing a tip-over and crush hazard that can result in serious injury or death. As of 12 November 2024, Dorel had received one report of a bed falling in Canada and 22 in the US, plus 10 US reports of concussions, contusions, cuts and bruises. No deaths were reported in the notice.

Dorel reported 2,614 units sold in Canada and 69,344 in the US, about 72,000 in total.

2,614 beds sold in Canada and 69,344 in the US, 23 reports of falling beds, 10 US reports of concussions, contusions, cuts and bruises.

The beds can come away from the wall, so the whole unit can fall onto anyone nearby.

The remedy Dorel chose, reinstallation into the wall studs if needed, points to mounting and anchoring as the weak point rather than the bed frame itself.

The beds were sold online in several finishes and under several brand names, so owners had to work out from a notice which of their purchases was affected.

A product that depends on its wall anchoring is only as safe as the installation it ships with; when beds fall, the fix is an inspection of every unit, not a warning label.

Consumers were told to stop using the beds and contact Dorel for a free inspection and, if needed, a free repair by reinstalling the bed into the studs. The Health Canada notice also describes a reimbursable professional inspection route, with Dorel reimbursing the cost once the owner submitted the professional's quote.
