What happened
HSN recalled about 86,000 Kitchen HQ thermal insulated bowls with detachable hinged lids on June 16, 2026 — the lid's metal spring can overheat when the bowl is microwaved, smoking, melting or catching fire. One fire with property damage was reported.
The bowls sold online and through HSN broadcasts from 2023 through early 2026. Owners stop use and contact HSN for a full or partial refund.

The lesson
