What happened
Week Nine recalled the Aqua Nine V2 infant textile in Korea on July 23, 2026 — lead measured at 4,432 mg/kg on a coated part, 49.2 times the standard, and phthalate plasticizers up to 27.09% where the total may not pass 0.1%.
Lead at that level risks dermatitis and central-nervous-system harm; the DEHP load risks liver and kidney damage. No accident was reported. Owners stop use and contact Week Nine for repair, exchange or refund.
A garment for the smallest wearer carrying 270 times the plasticizer limit — the supply chain's cheapest softener.
