Top Ten Kids printed 'come inside me' on a toddlers' fleece set — full recall

A Top Ten Kids infant fleece set carried a sexually suggestive English phrase; the brand pulled all stock and refunded every buyer.

What happened

Top Ten Kids, the children's wear brand under Korea's Shinseong Trading, recalled a product after a sexually suggestive English phrase was found printed on an infant garment. The item was the '유아 차윤아트 플리스 셋업-PINK' (Infant Cha-yoon Art Fleece Set-up – PINK), made in collaboration with artist Lee Cha-yoon, whose illustration of a rabbit in a sock was paired with the words 'come inside me' across the front.

The issue surfaced when a parent, curious about the English text on the top, searched the phrase online and connected it to Top Ten Kids on 30 October 2025. The brand confirmed the error the same day, halted sales across every online and offline channel, completed a full recall of the product, and promised a full refund to all purchasers regardless of when they bought it.

Top Ten Kids issued an official apology stating the lack of proper phrase review was 'the brand's clear responsibility' and that it would re-examine its entire product inspection process. The collaborating artist also apologised, noting the phrase was part of the original artwork and had not been checked.

The case landed amid recurring 'inappropriate English on products' scandals in Korea, and it drew particular anger because the garment was made for infants and toddlers.

Why it happened

  • The brand shipped a design reviewed only for how it looked, not for what the printed words said — nobody on the line read the English on the garment.
  • The collaborator's artwork was taken as-is; the phrase 'come inside me' carried a sexual meaning that no reviewer in the Korean-language pipeline caught.
  • Because the product was infant clothing, the failure hit the most sensitive possible audience and turned a quality slip into a trust and safety issue.
  • The error was found by a parent after purchase, not by the brand's own inspection, proving the review gate had been skipped entirely.
  • The recall and full refund were the only clean response: the brand had to pull every unit and refund every buyer to avoid a wider market withdrawal.

The lesson

A design is a payload, not a picture. On children's clothing, words carry the same weight as thread — and the one reviewer who could read the phrase never saw it.

Aftermath

On 30 October 2025 Top Ten Kids confirmed reports that its '유아 차윤아트 플리스 셋업-PINK' infant fleece set carried the phrase 'come inside me' beside a rabbit illustration from collaborating artist Lee Cha-yoon. The brand halted sales across all channels the same day, completed a full recall, and offered a full refund to every purchaser. In its official apology it said the lack of phrase review was 'the brand's clear responsibility' and pledged to re-examine its entire inspection process; the artist also apologised. The brand is under Shinseong Trading, which also runs the Topten SPA chain.
