What happened
Korea ordered Riverfox (리버폭스) to recall its HM250401 inflatable pool float on July 23, 2026 — the body thickness measured 0.274 mm against the 0.30 mm standard, 8.7% short, with rupture at the end of the gap.
Owners stop use and contact the company for repair, exchange or refund.
A summer float whose safety margin was a fraction of a millimetre — and the fraction was missing.
Why it happened
- Body thickness 0.274 mm vs 0.30 mm standard — rupture risk; ordered recall 23 Jul 2026; repair, exchange or refund
- The standard is 0.3 mm because thinner vinyl tears — the product shipped 8.7% inside the danger
- An ordered recall, not a voluntary one — the regulator measured what the maker didn't
The lesson
A pool float is a film of vinyl between a swimmer and the water. When the thickness standard exists because thinner tears, shipping at 0.274 mm is shipping the rupture — 8.7% short of dry.
