What happened
Pana Pacific International recalled the mononics 3D Swing Circulator (PPIT-MN3DTC-WH/BK) on June 25, 2026 — 100,550 units sold in Japan between May 2021 and June 2026.
Stress concentrated where the power cord meets the body can disconnect or short the cord — a fire risk. No accident with this product was reported; one incident with a similar product prompted the check. Owners receive a free replacement.
Five years on the shelf before the cord spoke — the recall covers every unit since the first.
Why it happened
- Stress at the cord's root can disconnect or short it — fire risk; 100,550 units sold May 2021–Jun 2026, recalled Jun 25, 2026
- No accident on this model — one incident on a similar product pulled a five-year sales run into a recall
- The remedy is a full replacement, not a repair — the cord's routing is the design, and the design is what fails
The lesson
A flexing cord runs a fatigue test in every home after the lab stops watching. Five years of sales is the bill for a root that was never strain-relieved.
