Maison Chambert was a family jewellery and watch house founded in 1976 by Jean Chambert, a former master watchmaker for Omega, on Place Wilson in the centre of Toulouse. It began as a watch boutique and pivoted to fine jewellery from 1985, with original creations designed first by his wife and, from 2013, by their son.
After nearly 50 years the business fell silent: the shop closed in early June 2025 following a voluntary cessation of activity. With no public explanation, the family's remaining stock — some 220 pieces of jewellery and about ten exceptional, never-worn watches — was consigned to auction.
On 10 July 2025 the Hôtel des Ventes Vitry in Toulouse held the sale, run by auctioneer Me Camille Chabroux with jewellery expertised by the Sancy Expertises cabinet. Starting prices were set around €30, sometimes a tenth of the piece's shop value: a solitaire in 18-carat grey gold set with a 1.9-carat oval diamond, sold at over €20,000 in the shop, opened at €3,500.

The auction, held 10 July 2025 at the Hôtel des Ventes Vitry by Me Camille Chabroux, was open to the public with no prior registration. The proceeds were not disclosed. The Maison Chambert name and its Place Wilson premises had, by then, already left the Toulousain street corner the family had occupied since 1976.
