What happened
Candybox recalled the Koons KKOONS-LTM40 portable laser product in Korea on July 23, 2026, under a collection-and-exchange order — the cross beam measured 2.55mW, over the class limit for a handheld consumer laser, and the product shipped without the warning label, manufacture date or importer details the standard requires.
An over-class beam with no warning label is a double omission: the eye gets more power and less notice. Owners stop use and contact Candybox for repair, exchange or refund.
Certified in January 2026 and ordered recalled the same July — the fastest surveillance catch of the sweep.

The lesson
The class limit protects the blink reflex; the label protects the choice. Ship a beam over class with no label and you have removed both of the eye's defences at once.
