Urban Necessities, famed Vegas sneaker consignment shop, shuts amid unpaid consignors

Urban Necessities was one of the most prominent names in sneaker consignment, a Las Vegas store where collectors handed over rare pairs to be sold and took their cut when a shoe moved. Its founder Jaysse Lopez, known online as TwoJsKicks, had built it into a destination resale business and a recognizable brand across the sneaker world. The model, like all consignment, ran on one promise: when your shoe sells, you get paid.

The trouble traces to 2022. After his wife was diagnosed with cancer, Lopez stepped back and brought in custom-sneaker figure Dominic 'The Shoe Surgeon' Ciambrone and his Surgeon Worldwide team to help run the business, with a partnership deal finalized toward the end of 2022. Lopez later alleged that a revised agreement stripped him of control while leaving him financially responsible for the company's liabilities. By June 2025, dozens of consignors were publicly accusing the store of withholding payment for sold items — ghosted emails and months-long delays.

Lopez, terminated from the company but insisting he remained a 50 percent owner on paper, said he wanted control back so he could repay the consignors. The company's side pushed back through its director of finance, Kayla Markin, who claimed Lopez had received $191,000 in 2023. In November 2025, TwoJsKicks confirmed on Instagram that Urban Necessities had closed. A consignment institution ended its run with consignors still waiting on money for shoes that had long since sold.
