What happened
Health Canada recalled the Ultra Big Blue Automatic Toilet Bowl Cleaner (255 g / 9 oz) on August 4, 2026 — 72,273 units sold across Canada from July 2020 to July 2026 — for improper labelling and the lack of child-resistant packaging, in violation of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001.
The solid chemical sits in a plastic container with a perforated lid — open by design. Unintentional exposure, chiefly a child's, can mean serious illness, injury or death. No incident was reported as of July 28, 2026.
Made by Fresh Products LLC and imported by Advantage Maintenance Products, the cleaner's remedy is disposal as municipal hazardous waste — six years of sales go to the depot.
