GMMTV cut Justin Moir, its new viral star, days after old posts surfaced
The 15-year-old actor had just gone viral off a hit GMMTV series when 2024 TikTok reposts surfaced; the agency ended his contract immediately.

What happened
Justin Angus Moir is a Thai-Scottish-Chinese actor born in November 2010. GMMTV, the Bangkok studio behind Thailand's biggest youth and BL series, picked him up through its late-2024 talent project AI PROJECT Road to AIBAO, gave him a supporting-role debut in the 2025 series หวงใจผู้ใหญ่จอม, and pushed him to his breakthrough in 2026 with ต้นส้มอยู่บ้านเขา แต่ผลส้มหล่นมาบ้านเราตลอดเลย. At fifteen, 180 centimetres tall, he went viral overnight — the agency's newest rising star.
In July 2026 netizens dug into the personal TikTok account he had run in 2024, before he was known, and found his reposts: content mocking gay people and people with disabilities, and material that treated violence against women as a joke. The screenshots spread through fan communities, and fans of the agency's other artists joined in, demanding an explanation from both the boy and his agency. The storm broke at the peak of his new fame.
On July 17, 2026 GMMTV issued an official announcement terminating Justin Angus Moir's actor contract with immediate effect, saying it 'does not support any behaviour or content that promotes violence, gender discrimination, discrimination, or the spread of content that may incite hatred in any form'. Two days later Justin posted an apology accepting full responsibility: the reposts were made 'without thinking', he said, and 'are not my true beliefs'. At fifteen, days after his breakout, his career at the studio was over.
Why it happened
- GMMTV spent eighteen months building him — talent show, supporting debut, 2026 breakout — and ended it the week old posts surfaced: the vetting happened after the investment, not before
- The reposts dated from 2024, before he was anyone: a check of a signing's personal accounts would have found them before the push began, not when fans did
- GMMTV sells clean youth idols to a fandom economy; homophobic content touches exactly that audience, so the agency could not sit out a storm aimed at its own customer base
The lesson
GMMTV took Justin Moir from talent show to viral star in eighteen months, then cut him the week his old posts surfaced. Checking a signing's past costs less than burning the star.
Aftermath
Justin's July 19 apology accepted all blame: the reposts were made 'without thinking', were 'not my true beliefs', and he had learned that everything done online affects real life; he said he was not writing to ask for a second chance. GMMTV never walked the termination back. The studio lost an actor it had developed since late 2024 at the exact moment his star had risen — the price of signing without checking the social footprint he already had.
