What happened
Ford recalled 86,543 Mustang Mach-Es (2023–2025, built February 17, 2023 through October 8, 2024) on August 4, 2026 — a new assembly jig shortened the installation time so the primer never cured long enough, and the rear side quarter window trim can detach while driving and strike other vehicles.
Dealers inspect and replace the trim free of charge; owner letters go out September 10–14, 2026 (NHTSA 26V487000).
The line got faster; the chemistry kept its own schedule.
