What happened
程十安, a top Chinese beauty influencer with nearly 30 million followers, relaunched under her real name 姜乘澜 on 13 May 2026 after a three-year hiatus, because the stage name, accounts and image rights her career ran on belonged to her former MCN agency 上海缙嘉科技.
The two were locked in a long-running service-contract dispute over revenue splits and exit compensation. Her studio 海南边边元文化传播工作室 had filed multiple lawsuits against the agency since 2023, and she had never held equity in the company; when she left she lost her account and even her stage name, and her old videos were re-cut for short-video sales she earned nothing from.
The agency had registered trademarks on "程十安" and related names, and her attempts to register alternatives such as "程七安" and "程八安" were blocked by the former company's objections. On 12 May 2026 she and her studio were listed as 被执行人 (judgment debtors) in a ¥11,198,000 enforcement case at the Shanghai Qingpu District People's Court.
Her relaunch drew immediate brand interest and her new account gained followers quickly, but the dispute showed how a creator who does not own her own name can lose the entire career she built.
Why it happened
- She built a massive personal brand on an account, stage name and image rights she did not own, so when the MCN relationship ended she had no claim to the very assets that made her.
- A contract that ceded name, account and image rights to the agency left her without leverage in the dispute, forcing a three-year hiatus and a relaunch under her real name.
- The split was settled through the courts, and the May 2026 enforcement shows the financial cost continuing years after she left.
The lesson
A creator's brand is only as safe as the assets it sits on — if a contract gives the platform or agency control of your name and account, leaving can cost you the career you built.
Aftermath
程十安 relaunched as 姜乘澜 on 13 May 2026; her new account reached 13.27 million followers while the original account lost more than 1.4 million. She and her studio were listed as judgment debtors in a ¥11.198 million enforcement case at the Shanghai Qingpu court.
