What happened
Midwest Poultry Services / August Egg Company recalled more than 1.7 million shell eggs over possible Salmonella contamination — sold at Kroger, Brookshire Grocery and smaller outlets across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico and Mississippi.
Consumers in the six states were told to discard or return the eggs. Florida was not affected.
