What happened
American Regent Animal Health recalled two lots each of Adequan Canine Injection (lots 25011, 3369) and Adequan i.m. Injection for horses (lots 24416, 25265P) on July 31, 2026 — testing found visible glass fiber material; an intramuscular injection carrying it can cause irritation, swelling, infection or abscesses.
The lots distributed nationwide to online pharmacies, wholesalers and veterinarians from May 2024 to January 2026. Owners stop use and contact their veterinarian; distributors return or discard. No adverse events reported.

The lesson
A glass vial holds the medicine that must never contain glass. When fiber from the container reaches the dose, the packaging is the contamination — four lots deep.
