What happened
Zhangzhoushi Jingqu Trading Co., dba Wonder Stone Toys, sold about 70 infant walkers (models 616 and 616-1) on Walmart.com at about $80 in April 2026.
The walkers violate the mandatory infant walker safety standard: they can pass through standard doorways and do not stop at the edge of a step — the two failure modes the standard exists for, because walkers that roll off steps injure and kill infants. The CPSC recalled them on July 9, 2026; no incidents were reported.
The remedy is a refund after the owner disassembles the walker, cuts the fabric seat, writes 'Recalled' on the tray in permanent marker and emails the photo. Seventy units is a rounding error; the violation is the story.
