Tom Davies, bespoke eyewear to Brad Pitt and Henry Cavill, entered administration
The London bespoke eyewear brand behind Brad Pitt's and Henry Cavill's glasses went into administration in June 2025.

What happened
Tom Davies built a British bespoke eyewear brand from 2002, making made-to-measure frames — an eyewear equivalent of a Savile Row suit — sold through opticians in over 23 countries and four central London flagship stores. The company behind it, Tom Davies Bespoke Eyewear Limited, was incorporated in 2007 and based in Brentford.
The brand's draw was celebrity and cinema: glasses for Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, Rowan Atkinson and Henry Cavill's Clark Kent, and the eyewear for The Matrix Resurrections. Frames retailed at an average of £378 and were made in a West London factory.
On 10 June 2025 Colin Wilson and Trevor Binyon of Opus Restructuring LLP were appointed joint administrators of Tom Davies Bespoke Eyewear Limited, a Brentford-based retailer of luxury eyewear. The appointment ended a bespoke operation that had positioned itself as the made-to-measure end of the optical market.
Why it happened
- A made-to-order luxury model depends on a constant flow of high-margin bespoke sales, and a small brand has no volume buffer when that flow thins.
- Celebrity and cinema glamour built the name but could not carry the running costs of central London stores and a domestic factory.
- The proposition was individual, slow, craft eyewear — hard to scale and easy to out-run on cash when custom demand weakened.
The lesson
A premium made-to-order brand lives on word of mouth, not repeat volume. When the bespoke flow thins, every fixed cost — a London factory, flagship stores — becomes a downhill slope it cannot arrest.
Aftermath
Colin Wilson and Trevor Binyon of Opus Restructuring LLP were appointed joint administrators of Tom Davies Bespoke Eyewear Limited on 10 June 2025, ending the Brentford-based luxury eyewear retailer's trading. The appointment is recorded in the London Gazette notice and the administrators' records. The Tom Davies brand, once carried by celebrity wearers and film productions, went into administration having built its name on made-to-measure frames sold through opticians and four central London stores.
