Dior removed its Vietnamese 'Friend of the House' after her candy-fraud arrest
Dior scrubbed Thùy Tiên from its posts in April 2025, then again after her fraud arrest; the court later gave her two years.

What happened
Thùy Tiên won Miss Grand International 2021 and became a 'Friend of the House' for Dior in Vietnam, appearing in the house's posts and at its events. In parallel she held a 30 percent stake in Chị Em Rọt (CER), a company whose Kera vegetable candy she promoted on livestreams alongside two other Vietnamese internet celebrities, Hằng Du Mục and Quang Linh. The candy was marketed with the claim that one candy equaled a plate of vegetables — a claim the police and courts later found false.
On March 15, 2025, police opened an investigation and placed Thùy Tiên under an exit ban while a fellow Kera livestreamer faced questioning. On April 7, Dior quietly edited a March 5 post on its official Facebook page, removing her image and tagged name. On May 19, the Ministry of Public Security's C01 unit indicted her for deceiving customers under Article 198, Clause 2 of the Penal Code; Dior removed her images from its pages again the same week.
On November 19, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City court sentenced her to two years in prison and a 50 million dong fine. The court found 129,617 boxes had been sold to 56,385 customers, bringing more than 17.5 billion dong in revenue and about 12.5 billion dong in illicit gains; lab tests showed the candy's fiber content was 0.935 percent against a claimed 28.13 percent of vegetable powder. CER was ordered to compensate the 22 victims identified in the investigation.
Why it happened
- Dior's product is its image: the moment an exit ban attached to its Vietnamese 'Friend of the House', an edited post was the fastest possible severance — no press release, no announcement.
- The endorsement covered her face, not her side businesses, yet her 30 percent stake in the candy company made the two inseparable: the fraud erased the Dior relationship without Dior touching it.
- Dior removed her twice — at the investigation and again at the arrest — showing the removal was not a judgment of guilt but a risk calculation that re-ran at every escalation of the case.
The lesson
Dior's contract never touched Thùy Tiên's candy business, yet the side business erased her face from the brand anyway. Endorsement value cannot be separated from everything a talent does off-contract.
Aftermath
Dior never restored her. The Ho Chi Minh City court on November 19, 2025 sentenced Thùy Tiên to two years in prison and a 50 million dong fine; CER director Lê Tuấn Linh received three years and three months, Lê Thành Công three years, and Hằng Du Mục and Quang Linh two years each, with similar fines. The company must compensate the 22 victims identified in the case, against 56,385 customers total. Her fanpage and TikTok had gone dark in April 2025, and the Dior relationship ended with the edits.
