What happened
Murayoshi (MK Foods) recalled domestic beef seasoned horumon and ten other products on May 29, 2026 — best-before management records were incomplete, so the use of expired ingredients could not be ruled out, and traceability failed.
The range includes beef shipped as Niigata hometown-tax return gifts; the city's notice followed in July. No incident was reported. The remedy is refund and collection.
A wagyu line recalled not for what was found but for what could no longer be proven.
