What happened
Madewell recalled about 5,900 Double V-Neck Pullover and V-Neck Cardigan sweaters (styles NT611/NT612, HO24) on July 16, 2026 — they violate the mandatory standard for clothing textiles and can burn too fast; one sweater was reported catching fire, with no injury.
The sweaters sold for $138 to $148 at Madewell and T.J. Maxx stores and madewell.com from December 2024 through October 2025. The refund asks owners to destroy the garment — cut it in half — and email a photo of the corpse.
