HARPPA's Nordi tower stool: a learning tower that collapses and traps

It can collapse or tip, and a child's torso fits through the openings. 47,166 recalled after two injuries; the fix is a net and stabilizing feet by mail.

What happened

HARPPA, Inc. of Denver, Colorado sold about 47,166 Nordi Foldable Toddler Tower Stools (model HANS0002) at about $130 from September 2023 through June 2026.

The tower can collapse or tip while a child stands in it, and a child's torso can fit through the openings on the front and back — tip-over, fall and entrapment hazards. HARPPA received three reports of collapse or tip-over and two injuries: scrapes, cuts and bruises. The CPSC recalled the line on July 30, 2026.

The remedy is a free repair kit — protective nets, stabilizing feet and instructions — mailed to owners. The learning tower sells standing at the counter; this one also sold collapsing.

Why it happened

  • The tower can collapse or tip in use; a child's torso fits through the front and back openings — three reports, two injuries (scrapes, cuts, bruises)
  • 47,166 stools at $130 sold Sep 2023–Jun 2026 — three years on the kitchen floor before the net arrived
  • The fix ships by mail: protective nets and stabilizing feet — the tower becomes safe one envelope later

The lesson

A learning tower sells independence at counter height — its only job is to not collapse and not trap, and both failures shipped in the same frame for three years.
