Giao Hang Nhanh put misleading claims on its website and the watchdog fined it
A Vietnamese delivery giant was fined VND 200 million for posting misleading information on its own website to pull customers away from rivals.

What happened
Giao Hang Nhanh JSC (GHN), one of Vietnam's largest delivery and logistics providers, provided misleading information about its business, products and services on its website in order to attract customers away from competing delivery companies. The specific false statistics were not itemised by the regulator, but the conduct was treated as customer solicitation through misleading information.
On 17 June 2025 the National Competition Commission (VCC) issued Decision no. 131/QĐ-CT, fining GHN VND 200,000,000 for violating Point (a), Clause 5, Article 45 of the Law on Competition 2018. The decision was published on the official VCC portal, naming the company's enterprise code (0311907295).
Beyond the fine, GHN was ordered to publicly correct the misleading information on its website at ghn.vn. The case was part of a four-company sweep of the postal and logistics sector by the VCC, which warned that marketing claims such as delivery coverage, volume and speed must be backed up by data.
Why it happened
- GHN put claims on its own website, which customers read as the company's official facts rather than as advertising, so the misleading information was taken at face value
- Delivery is a commodity business where speed and coverage numbers decide which provider a merchant picks, so an inflated claim translates directly into won business
- The claim was aimed at 'attracting customers of another enterprise' — soliciting comparably, not just puffing its own service, which is what the law targets
- Because the specific figures were never itemised, the regulator's finding left the company's credibility the only thing actually damaged
The lesson
A company's own website is not free speech for marketing — claims that could turn a prospect's choice must be provable, and delivery metrics are exactly what regulators now check.
