Sigenergy's SigenStor was Australia's top-selling home battery. The single-phase 8/10/12 kW energy controller with a quick-connect AC plug could overheat — inverter components heating and the plug melting into a fire risk.
On November 21, 2025, the ACCC published the recall of around 100 affected controllers — a small proportion of the installed base, but incidents had already occurred, with no property damage, injuries or deaths reported. An October 9 installer notice about installation methods preceded it.
The remedy is a free replacement controller with an updated AC plug, arranged through retailers or Sigenergy service partners, with the system kept internet-connected for firmware updates and proactive monitoring. The flagship of the rooftop boom recalled a hundred plugs.
