Riot kicked PSG's esports partner TALON out of two leagues for unpaid player wages

TALON was one of Asia-Pacific esports' most decorated organisations: it won every PCS split in 2024, reached three straight League of Legends World Championships, and finished on the podium in LCP and VCT Pacific splits through 2025. Paris Saint-Germain had built its Asia esports presence around the partnership.

In August 2025 TALON acknowledged delays in prize pool distributions and promised payment by the end of September. Riot granted the organisation multiple extensions in both leagues, but by November the money was still moving too slowly: on 18 November it terminated TALON's partnership in the LCP and VCT Pacific, citing 'significant delays in payments to players and coaches' and, for Valorant, 'a pattern of significantly overdue payments to players and an inability to demonstrate sufficient financial capacity.'

TALON blamed 'several months of delays in funding from our current financing round' and accepted the decision, announcing it was 'taking a step back from League of Legends Esports to reassess our future.' Players on both rosters became free agents as Riot opened application processes for replacement teams.
