Wonderland Raisins: pesticide past the limit, recalled by FSSAI

Pesticide residues over legal limits — declared unsafe 29 Jul 2026; e-commerce listings still live at report time. Withdraw, notify in 24 h, dispose per rules.

What happened

India's FSSAI ordered Sun Organic Industries Pvt Ltd to recall its Wonderland Raisins on July 29, 2026 — samples failed safety standards for pesticide residues exceeding prescribed limits, declaring the product unsafe under the FSS Act.

The company must withdraw the affected batches, notify FSSAI within 24 hours and store or dispose of recalled stock under the Food Recall Procedure Regulations, 2017. The raisins had been sold on major e-commerce platforms, where listings remained live as the recall was reported.

A dried fruit that concentrates the sun — and, it turned out, the spray.

Why it happened

  • Pesticide residues over legal limits — FSSAI recall order 29 Jul 2026; withdraw, notify in 24 h, dispose per 2017 rules
  • Drying concentrates everything in the grape — the residue rides along with the sugar
  • The listings outlived the verdict — the recall order and the marketplace ran on different clocks
What it costRecall, withdrawal and disposal; live listingscostly

The lesson

A raisin is a grape with the water removed — everything else stays. Pesticide past the limit in the fruit is the orchard's decision, concentrated; the recall is the label the spray never carried.
