Neutronfarma sold pills that treated everything — even COVID-19. Indecopi fined it
Mar 2026: Indecopi confirmed S/24K fines on Neutronfarma — Krischman and Baisser ads promised treatment for diabetes, anemia, even COVID-19, without evidence.
Neutronfarma E.I.R.L. · 2026-03
What happened
Neutronfarma E.I.R.L. marketed two products with a growing list of cures. 'Baisser Ener-Gython Magnesio + Aloe Vera' was advertised as supporting the renal, cardiac, nervous and muscular systems, regulating blood pressure, preventing anemia and fighting infections — and as a treatment for neurological and eye conditions, even COVID-19. 'Krischman' promised immune-system benefits and treatment of diabetes, anemia, infections and more than 34 other pathologies, including for pregnant women.
None of it was backed by evidence. Indecopi's Unfair Competition Commission sanctioned the company 2.19 UIT per product — 4.38 UIT in total, S/24,090 — and the Competition Defense Chamber confirmed both rulings on second instance in March 2026 (Resolutions 0034-2026/SDC and 031-2026/SDC). The corrective measures: definitive removal of the advertising and registration in the Registry of Offenders.
The cure-all logic is its own refutation: the more a single product promises, the less each promise is believed — and the regulator counts the infractions per product. A therapeutic claim without evidence is the violation itself, not embellishment.
Why it happened
- Two products promised to treat diabetes, anemia, infections, even COVID-19 — more than 34 pathologies between them.
- No evidence backed any therapeutic claim; the regulator counted one infraction per product.
- The second-instance chamber confirmed the fines, the definitive ad removal and the offender-registry entry.
The lesson
A therapeutic claim without evidence is the violation, not embellishment — and a cure-all list is priced per promise: each unsupported claim is a separate count.
Aftermath
The fines and definitive ad removal stood. The rulings sit in Indecopi's line of cases against health-product advertising, where unsubstantiated therapeutic claims are sanctioned per product and per claim.
