In early March 2025, Wacoal Thailand released a small fashion collection — bras, underwear and casual shirts — tied to the Netflix series 'Girl From Nowhere: The Reset,' a show set inside Thai high schools.
Promotional images for the collaboration showed models in school-style uniforms, echoing the series' setting. Because the show itself is set among students, viewers online said the styling read as sexualizing the school-uniform imagery rather than simply referencing the series.
On 8 March 2025, Wacoal Thailand announced it was withdrawing the advertisement and ending the collaboration, confirming the campaign materials would no longer run. The withdrawal statement itself drew further criticism from commentators who felt it did not fully address why the styling choice had been made in the first place.
